This type of accommodation is usually found in hostels, and is most often used by backpackers and traveling Students. The rooms have very basic facilities for sleeping and all services are cut to a minimum.

Two star accommodation is basically a hotel that offers a better quality of the rooms then one star accommodation along with a private shower or bathroom. There is usually no TV or Telephone in each room separately.

Three star hotels and pension can vary greatly in their quality and services. The basic conditions to be recognized as a three star hotel is that each room has it's own bathroom, T.V. and telephone. Many three star hotels have more than just these facilities, others have just the basics to meet the three star category.

A hotel that has a 4 star rating can be easily described as a hotel that offers the same quality of rooms as a 5 star hotel, but it has less services. The price difference for a 4 star and 5 star hotel can be quite large.

- Each room has it's own facilities (shower or bathtub + bathroom) -Each room has its own T.V., telephone, Safety deposit box, and mini bar. - Many 4 star hotels now have as standard internet access in the rooms

5 Star hotels are the most luxurious types of accommodation available and should be able to offer the client many types of services, more than a hotel out of the 5 star category. The rooms should also be larger than the rooms of a 4 star hotel, even though this is not always respected.

- All the same amenities/services as a 4 star hotel - Internet in almost all modern hotels - Extra services such as 24 hour room service, bathrobe, slippers, etc.
